More Than a Thrift Store

Milltown Market is a family-owned thrift store with a heart for building a stronger, more connected Springfield.

We offer affordable everyday goods, unusual finds, and second chances for useful things. We are also working to create something bigger: a welcoming place where shopping secondhand supports local families, reduces waste, and helps build community.

We Learned to See Value in Used Things

Brice and Siria are the owners and operators of Milltown Market. For Brice, secondhand shopping began while growing up in South Georgia. His family had very little money, so most clothing, household essentials, and decorations came from thrift stores, flea markets, and auctions.

He grew up walking dusty auction-house floors, exploring buildings filled with used goods, and watching his family operate a used-car lot. Those experiences taught him something that still guides Milltown today:

Something does not lose its value simply because it has been used, broken, or overlooked.

For years, Brice earned extra income by finding unwanted items, repairing or restoring them when possible, and connecting them with new owners. That side business eventually became his full-time work and helped lay the foundation for Milltown Market.

A Shared Love of the Hunt

When Brice met his wife, Siria, they quickly discovered a shared love of thrift stores, yard sales, and estate sales.

Thrifting became part of nearly every chapter of their relationship. Brice proposed in the glassware aisle of a thrift store, Siria’s favorite section. They decorated much of their wedding with thrifted finds, and their shoestring honeymoon included nearly 30 thrift-store stops across coastal and Southern Oregon.

Siria has also developed a talent for finding and displaying vintage glassware, farmhouse décor, shabby-chic pieces, and the comfortable style now known as granny-core.

For Brice and Siria, secondhand shopping has never been only about buying things. It is an experience they share—and now a way to build something together.

How Milltown Market Began

Milltown Market grew from an unexpected visit to Northwood Estate Outlet in East Springfield.

During that visit, Brice and Siria met the store’s owners, Nancy and Richard. A conversation became a friendship, and the friendship eventually created an opportunity. Nancy and Richard were preparing to retire, while Brice and Siria were looking for a way to turn their secondhand business into a community storefront.

They began volunteering, working alongside Northwood, and preparing to continue the store’s story under a new name.

On September 1, 2026, Milltown Market officially begins its next chapter as Springfield’s Community Thrift.

What we Do

Building One Shelf at a Time

We are not starting with a large investor, an expensive remodel, or everything perfectly in place.

Milltown Market is being built one shelf, one donation, one repaired item, and one relationship at a time. Family members, friends, neighbors, and generous strangers have all helped us establish the foundation.

We still have plenty to learn and improve, so we invite you to pardon our progress. What we can promise is honest work, strong local value, and a sincere commitment to building something Springfield can be proud of.

What We Hope to Build

Our first responsibility is to be a thrift store worth visiting, one with fair prices, useful merchandise, interesting finds, and an experience that makes people want to return.

Over time, we hope Milltown can become even more: a community gathering place centered on reuse, creativity, education, and connection.

Our long-term vision includes:

  • Partnerships with local organizations, schools, artists, makers, and businesses
  • Workshops focused on repair, restoration, and upcycling
  • Opportunities for students to explore history, art, science, and technology through used objects
  • Creative ways to salvage useful materials and keep goods out of landfills
  • Support for people who turn discarded materials into useful items and works of art

These programs are still part of our future vision. We want to build them carefully, with the right partners and the involvement of the community.

Everyone Is Welcome

Milltown Market is being built for our whole community.

Whatever your background, race, age, size, creed, faith, or lack of faith, we want you to feel safe, respected, and welcome here.

We hope Milltown becomes a place where neighbors connect, families find things they need, creative people discover possibilities, and every visitor knows they have a place in the story.
